For those who have been wanting it, did you know there is a discount if you upgrade from MercalliEasy? ME did not suit my needs at all but it was a gateway to a less costly V2 plug-in. So far, so good.Īs I mentioned earlier, I really wanted the plug-in so no great loss for me on SAL V2. I did a quick test in Vegas to make sure everything is working okay, not corrupted with nasty codecs, etc. I took that as a sign and did a system restore to wipe it all away. I tried to download MatroskaSlitter but McAfee kept aborting the download with a big red X saying "Whoa, are you sure you want this?" This enabled AVI files to work in SAL V2. I installed the latest version of ffdshow, which has in recent years morphed into ffdshow-tryouts. SAL V2 came as part of the package and I thought well, maybe I'll learn something from it. Trouble is you always want to evaluate new toys.

Any thoughts on whether these will make the SAL V2 happy on my machine? The only codecs I have installed are the ones that came with Windows and Vegas/DVD-A Pro.Įssentially if you don't need it don't install it. I wrote to proDAD asking if I could get it to run without installing K-Lite. The SAL V2 opens fine but gives an error message about not having the correct codecs when I try to add video. Mercalli ratings, which are given as Roman. It is known today as the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale. So when I installed it, the installer asked me to install the K-Lite codec. The Mercalli Intensity Scale was developed by the Italian volcanologist Giuseppe Mercalli in 1884 and expanded to include 12 degrees of intensity in 1902 by Adolfo Cancani. The SAL V2 wasn't available to demo (SAL V3 is however). The plug-in works great, exactly as in the demo. The plug-in was what I really wanted - the SAL is a bonus for me. I bought Mercalli Pro V2 Plug-in + V2 SAL.
